Every person enrolled in intensive outpatient treatment is assigned a therapist who participates in the weekly treatment planning meeting with the team’s psychiatrists and other treatment staff. Groups include dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, co-existing disorders group for psychiatric illness and substance abuse issues, breakfast group, art therapy group, movement therapy group, creative writing group, and garden group as well as various activity groups.
In addition to weekly individual therapy for Outpatient clients, Colorado Recovery also offers a variety of daily Therapeutic and Life Skill Groups which are available for all clients to attend.
Therapeutic Groups include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Co-Existing Disorders Group for psychiatric illness and substance abuse issues, Art Therapy Group, Movement Therapy Group, and Creative Writing Group.
Life Skill groups include Social Support Group, Career Exploration Group, Garden Group (in the summer), Breakfast Group, and Coffee Group.
Our Client-run clubhouse (The Treehouse) offers staff-led groups as well which include Treehouse Lunch, North Boulder Park Group, Boulder Creek Trash Pickup Group, Treehouse Movie and Pizza Group, as well as the Treehouse Planning Session and Outing. We also offer several client-led groups which include Gaming Group and Crafting Group.
In addition to all these groups, Colorado Recovery also offers a monthly Super Hike Group as well as a staff-led Weekend Outing Group every Sunday. For those Outpatient clients living in our Transitional Housing, there is a weekly Transitional Community Meeting every week.

Outpatients usually meet with their therapists once or twice every two weeks but can meet more often if warranted.
